If you’ve never been to Kansas, travel through the pages of River of Murder in this debut mystery by Conrad Jestmore. The author has preserved an enduring image of Kansas and captured the beauty of the state that the reader is sure to enjoy.  Set in the small town of Chisholm–a wide spot in the road–the story moves to Wichita where Jimmy O’Reilly, the main character, draws trouble like a magnet: a series of brutal murders, a kidnapping, and a drug ring all too willing to  kill to conceal their secrets.

Jestmore’s characters are well-developed, and the dialogue is natural–with understated humor reminiscent of Sue Grafton. Mystery fans are sure to enjoy this lively read.
